The Review painting is titled after a newpaper in Richmond. While taking a break I started reading the Richmond Review. I was very inspired by Matisse and his use of collage. So I though it might be interesting to cut out rectangles, circles, linear and organic newspaper clipping and paste them to the canvas. This provided a foundation or under current to construct a painting. |

| I purchased a pre-stretched canvas from an art supply store in down town Montreal. When I returned home I noticed the canvas had a small rip in it. I was pretty upset at first... but rather than go through the inconvience of trying to return it. I decided to challenge myself and incorporate this element into the work.
