An email from Linda Curatolo (Spring 2002) - to artist Patrick John Mills

Patrick, About 5 years ago I came upon your work in a gallery in Montreal. ( Place Montreal Trust ). I convinced the owner of the gallery to get in touch with you, at the time she said you were in Vancouver to ask if you had any paintings that I might be able to afford. You agreed to sell me a painting that was actually hanging in your kitchen and sent me a beautiful letter along with the painting which hangs in my dining room. It is of dying flowers set against a green background. I'm sure you remember it because your letter intimated that this had been a pretty low time for you. Sounds like your life is now happier and this is good news. I am now living in Vancouver and since arriving have been trying to find you and your work. I tried the internet but kept getting a Patrick Mills in the UK and for whatever reason thought this was another artist. Today I found a photo of one of your works that I must have had in my personal file since leaving Montreal. It is a photo of your work "reflections" and I still love it. Decided to give the internet another try and this time there was info on the fact that Patrick Mills was a Canadian. Seems as though I have finally found you. I would like to see if I can purchase another of your paintings. Do you have a catalogue that I can look at over the internet along with prices? Do you have any of your work from '96 still around? Hope you are well and want you to know that I love the painting I have. Linda Curatolo |
