photo taken inside studio. It was very cold for the 2 - 3 weeks that I workd on this painting.

The last week was especially cold. I was working in the studio 8 - 12 hours per day.

Some nights it was -19 degrees. So working on large paintings was need to keep moving around to stay warm.

It was really great to have it cold. The drying time of the paint was so slow. So I was able to take advantage of this natural element.

I was able to work on several layers of paint all at the same time. This made it possible to have all the layers work as one.

I could stand back and contemplate the palette, how the form or lack of structure would develop.

I wanted to use black. For some reason it was important to use black in a Love painting.

The palette or colour selection for this painting is much more bold. (little red, yellow... less love colours)
