Abstract Expressionist Drawings:

The following abstract expressionist drawings were done a month before my wife gave birth to our first child Isabelle Chantal Mills. I was pretty stressed. The individual who I worked for had made me reduntant when my wife was 32 weeks (7 months) pregnant. I had worked for this individual for two years. It came as a rather large shock to lose my part time job without any notice.

For the past 11 years I have been contentrating on furthering my painting career. Consequently my job resume was rather neglected and very out of date. I had sent out many job applications, but with very little surprize I had zero success. So I decided to take a 6 week full time coarse to update my skills. The coarse started August 16th 2003. On Monday September 1st 2003 Erika (my wife) gave birth to Isabelle Chantal Mills (our first child). With much reluntance I had to go back to continue my coarse on Wednesday September 3rd 2003.

I was very furtune that Erika's mother Madame Gagne had flown out from Ottawa Tuesday Sept 2nd 2003. Erika had had a C-section. It was a very difficult period in my life. I can not express just how thankful I am to Madame Gagne for her outstanding help and support. Madame Gagne stayed with us for 3 1/2 weeks. During this time I was able to complete my coarse and was fortunate to obtain a part time job as a support teacher.

Thank you

Patrick
