The Family - figurative sculpture paintings. Sunshine stomach, hearts, holding hands, love grows in her heart and feathers our family.

I really wish I could have sculpted these works rather than paint them. I would like to use large tree trunks with a chain saw and painted them with lead white paint and highlights of colour. Presently I am unable to start sculpting due to lack of storage space.

Up to this point in my life I have faced many more closed doors than open ones. I will not dig into the high level of rejection and disappointment. Some how you continue and find ways to make the most of matters.

I feel very blessed. Erika (my wife) feathers me with love and encouragment. While doing the below painting Erika was pregnant with our first child. The figure to the right is a pregnant woman. In the stomach there is a sunshine stomach, a womb, a child, fetus... growing in the nest of her carved out mid space.
