Being in love is scary. When you love someone so much your heart is not your heart. They become apart of you. I was twenty years old when my father suddenly died of a heart attack. To be honest I have never gotten over it. Being married and loving my wife (Erika) so intensely frightens me. The fear of her dying... a drunk driver, walking across the street, getting on a plane, eating meat, going to sleep and not waking up... life is so fragile. We trust that our little hearts will not stop beating and that they will continue to keep our engine pumping down the highway of life. Erika is the nucleus of my world. Paintings do not talk. They do not sleep in my bed. They do not hold my hand in the park.
