I painted the two above paintings at my friends home / studio Scott Swager. I go over to his place to paint every once in a while to paint and he comes over to my home to paint. We encourage each other and have become good friends. It can get lonely painting alone all the time. So some good company always helps.

The above paintings have an obvious influence of Pablo Picasso. It is hard to not be touched by such a great painter. So rather than close my mind and focus on my work and style I merely allow my palette to blow where the inspiration goes.

It is common knowledge that commercial gallery like an artist to produce work that repeats a style. It is understandable... for collectors like to know where and what direction your work is headed.

Over the years I have had many series of paintings that have sold well. Take for example the Willow World series it enabled my wife (Erika Mills) and I to purchase our first property in London. I will not lie... it feels really good to be a home owner, go on holiday, have galleries wishing to have paintings. But these things are not art. One must find what one is looking for.

Scott Swager let me use one of his water color paint brushes. It was a very small sable brush. So I painted the bulk of the faces with this paint brush. The paint could be applied in thin lines like grass or thread.
