It was our second summer in our home. The first summer did not count... for we were so busy moving, painting, redecorating that we never stopped to smell the flowers.

The joy of having our own garden was very exciting. It is safe to say that I went a little crazy... at first I purchased 80-100 flower bulbs. And in 2-3 weeks and after frequent trips to the flower market we found that we had 800 - 900 flower bulbs, plants... We have a typical london garden. George Orwell would describe it as a 12 - 18 foot space of dirt in the rear of our flat.

So we very quickly found that all these bulbs would not fit in our little space. Fortunately the teacher resource centre across the road had a much larger palette of dirt to entertain and the bulk of the flower found their roots in the school across the street.
