On Dec 24th 2002 Erika and I found out that Erika was pregnant... very happy, and very excited. At the time the second bedroom in our flat was completely stuffed with paintings. With the prospect of parenthood now present it was time to empty this room of paintings and convert the loft in to a storage unit for all the paintings. So I hired a carpenter to convert the loft. Once the loft was ready I started moving all the paintings out of the second bedroom and up into the loft.. In the process of moving the paintings I decided to take the above canvas back to the studio and rework this particular painting.

It was a scary process. To decide to paint over an already completed work painting that had once taken me several months to once finish... only to say No that is not good enought... I must try again and rework that canvas. The first few moments of reworking this painting were not easy. You question yourself. But once you comitt yourself you are in the water and you now have no choose but to swim to the other side. It took a little over a month to complete rework and complete this painting for good. And now that I have finished this painting I am very pleased with the final outcome.
